SB 2288  RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE           CPN
        Corrects reference from  motor  vehicle insurance to
        personal injury  protection  no-fault  in statute of
        limitations provision.  (TANIGUCHI/KANNO)

SB 2563  RELATING TO INSURANCE                         CPN
        Makes refusing to provide past or future coverage or
        limiting  a  claim   an   unfair  act  or  deceptive
        practice.   Exempts  reimbursement  of past benefits
        where  damages  are  recovered  or  where  there  is
        reimbursement or  subrogation  otherwise provided by
        law.  (TANIGUCHI/KANNO) 

SB 2588  RELATING TO INSURANCE                         CPN
        Removes   the    certification    requirements   for
        physicians providing  substance  abuse treatment for
        insurance coverage purposes.  (KANNO/TANIGUCHI)

SB 2693  RELATING TO INSURANCE                         CPN
        Prohibits   insurance   companies   from   requiring
        independent   insurance   agents   to   sign   anti-
        competition clauses.  (TAM)

SB 2729  RELATING TO SERVICE CONTRACTS                 CPN
        Provides for  regulation  as  insurance  of consumer
        goods   and   motor   vehicle   service   contracts.

SB 2732  RELATING TO INSURANCE                         CPN

 
                       Redefines "insurer", "motor vehicle", and "uninsured
                       motor vehicle" in the motor vehicle insurance law.

            SB 2811  RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE           CPN
                       Clarifies motor  vehicle  insurance laws prohibiting
                       certain discriminatory practices.  (ADMIN)
            
            SB 2814  RELATING TO INSURANCE                         CPN
                       Consolidates laws and rules governing insurance.

            SB 2818  RELATING TO INSURANCE                         CPN
                       Prohibits viadication of life insurance policies and
                       establishes provisions for regulation of accelerated
                       death benefits.  (ADMIN)
            
            SB 2819  RELATING TO INSURANCE                         CPN
                       Establishes  standards  for  life  insurance  policy
                       illustrations.  Regulates the activities of insurers
                       and  producers  with   respect   to  replacement  of
                       existing  life  insurance  policies  and  annuities.

                      DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.
            
            
            Persons wishing to  testify  should  submit  25 copies of their
            testimony to the committee  clerk,  Room 219, State Capitol, 24
            hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
            than 5 pages in  length,  to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office
            at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands),
            at least 24 hours prior  to  the  hearing.  When faxing, please
            indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
            time of the hearing, and  the  required number of copies needed
            for submittal.
            
            If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
            to  participate  in  the  public  hearing  process  (i.e., sign
            language  interpreter,  wheelchair  accessibility,  or  parking
            designated for  the  disabled),  please  contact  the committee
            clerk 24 hours  prior  to  the  hearing  so arrangements can be
            made.
            
            Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
            measures and testimonies for the  hearing will be available for
            shared use by members of the public.
